Welcome to thankyü! thankyü Ltd ("we," "us," "our") provides a digital tipping and rewards platform that allows individuals and organisations to receive, manage, and distribute tips securely.

By using thankyü, you agree to these Terms of Use and any additional terms that apply to specific services, including:

  • thankyü Now (Pay-as-you-go tipping)

  • thankyü Freedom (Subscription-based tipping benefits)

  • thankyü Teams (Team-based tipping facilitation)

  • thankyü Boost (Organisation-based tipping accounts)

If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the platform.

1. Who Can Use thankyü?

To use thankyü, you must:
Be at least 16 years old or have parental/guardian consent.
Use the platform in a lawful and ethical manner.
Provide accurate and up-to-date account information.
Accept that thankyü is a third-party tipping platform, not a payroll system.

User Categories:

  • Individual Users (Solo) – Those who receive tips as thankyü Now or Freedom users.

  • Organisations (Boost) – Entities using thankyü Boost to receive tips on behalf of their group, venue, or cause.

  • Team Providers – Businesses and organisations using thankyü Teams to facilitate fair tip distribution among staff.

2. Payments, Fees & Charges

2.1 Transaction Processing Fees

  • When a customer tips, they may choose to cover the finance fees or let them be deducted from the tip amount.

  • These fees are set by third-party payment providers and are outside thankyü’s control.

2.2 Platform Fees

  • A 5% platform fee is applied to each tip to cover operational costs, customer support, and platform maintenance.

  • Users on thankyü Freedom may receive cash back or rebates on platform fees.

2.3 Payouts & Withdrawals

  • Payouts are made directly to users’ linked payment accounts.

  • thankyü Boost accounts receive payouts to their organisation's designated account.

  • thankyü does not hold funds on behalf of users beyond standard processing times.

3. User Responsibilities & Acceptable Use

When using thankyü, you agree not to:
Use the platform for fraudulent, illegal, or misleading transactions.
Share your account with unauthorised users.
Attempt to manipulate fees, payouts, or transactions.
Harass or abuse other users, customers, or thankyü staff.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Data Privacy & GDPR Compliance

We are committed to protecting your data in compliance with UK GDPR.

  • We collect and process only the data necessary to provide and improve our services.

  • We may contact you for:

    • Essential service updates (cannot opt out).

    • Exclusive partner offers (opt-out available).

  • thankyü never sells your personal data to third parties.

5. Account Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if:
You violate these Terms of Use.
Your activity appears fraudulent or suspicious.
You attempt to misuse payouts or platform functions.

Users can close their account at any time via the app or by contacting support.

6. Limitation of Liability

  • thankyü is a facilitation platform and does not guarantee tip amounts or payouts.

  • We are not responsible for third-party payment issues or delays.

  • Users are responsible for declaring their own income for tax purposes.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, thankyü is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from platform use.

7. Updates to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.
If we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or app notification.
Continued use of the platform after updates means you accept the new terms.
