thankyü Now - Terms and Conditions.

Welcome to thankyü! By using the thankyü app and signing up for thankyü Now, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before using the platform.

1. About thankyü Now

thankyü Now is a Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) App that allows users to receive tips, rewards and compliments directly from customers. 

2. Transaction Processing Fees

  • When a customer tips you, they have the option to cover the transaction processing fees (bank/acquiring fees).

  • The tip is determined by the application of these fees.

3. Earnings & Payments

  • Your tips will be deposited into the linked payment account you added during the onboarding process.

  • thankyü make weekly payouts on a Tuesday (each week);  users can make additional withdrawals but additional charges may apply. 

4. thankyü Platform Fee

  • Users fund the use of thankyü through a notional 5% platform fee.  

  • This fee is automatically deducted from each tip you receive. 

  • The fee is to cover the cost of running the thankyü platform, including app maintenance, customer support, and thankyü Club benefits.

5. Upgrading to thankyü Freedom

  • You can upgrade to thankyü Freedom, a subscription plan that offers cash back or rebates on all platform fees.

  • Subscription terms, pricing, and benefits are available in the App.

6. Use of Data & GDPR Compliance

  • How We Use Your Data

  • We take your privacy seriously and comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and other relevant laws. When you use thankyü, we collect and process personal data to:

    • Provide and improve our platform, including processing transactions.

    • Offer personalised experiences and relevant content within the thankyü app.

    • Contact you with important service updates.

    • Introduce you to exclusive partner offers and discounts that we believe will benefit you.

    • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Marketing & Partner Offers

  • We may contact you via email, app notifications, or SMS with special offers from trusted partners. These offers will always be relevant to hospitality, service workers, or money-saving opportunities. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time via your account settings or by contacting support.

  • Data Protection & Security

  • We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

    • Your information is stored securely and only accessed for legitimate business purposes.

    • You have the right to request access, correction, or deletion of your data at any time.

7. User Responsibilities

By using thankyü, you agree to:

  • Use the platform in a fair and lawful manner.

  • Keep your account details secure and updated.

  • Not engage in fraudulent, misleading, or abusive activities.

  • Comply with all applicable tax and legal obligations related to your earnings.

8. Account Suspension & Termination

  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate our policies, misuse the platform, or engage in fraudulent activity.

  • You can close your account at any time via the App or by contacting support.

9. Changes to Fees & Terms

  • thankyü reserves the right to update fees, features, or terms with reasonable notice.

  • Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Liability & Disclaimers

  • thankyü provides the platform "as is" and does not guarantee uninterrupted service.

  • We are not liable for third-party payment processing issues or delays.

  • Users are responsible for managing their own earnings, including tax obligations.
